Russell Brand's rape accuser 'feared she may be pregnant' as former flatmate describes sex as his 'huge preoccupation' at Southwark trial

A complainant at Russell Brand's rape trial told the jury she feared she might be pregnant after the alleged attack, while Brand's former flatmate Andrew Dobson told Southwark Crown Court that sex was a "huge preoccupation" for the comedian, describing him as "very egotistical", "erratic" and relentlessly pursuing women on nights out. Dobson recalled Brand returning to their shared accommodation the morning after the alleged 1999 Bournemouth rape in a "panicked urgency", saying he did not understand why they had to leave so suddenly. Brand, 51, denies three counts of rape, three of sexual assault and one of indecent assault relating to six women between 1999 and 2009.
The complainant told the jury Brand went from "camp, friendly and effeminate" to "monster-like" the moment they were alone in her hotel room, and that she pleaded "Get off me, please stop — it hurts."
Dobson said Brand would pursue women relentlessly on nights out, painting a picture of a man whose social life revolved around sexual conquest.
Brand's defence maintains any sexual activity was consensual and that accusers have "reimagined" encounters with him years later.
