Russell Brand denies seven charges involving six women between 1999 and 2009; an accuser has told jurors he treated her "like a piece of meat" and ignored her pleas to stop.

The woman, a fan picked out after a 2009 Hammersmith Apollo gig, told Southwark Crown Court she repeatedly pleaded 'can you stop' as consensual sex turned to rape. She said she was left bleeding for days and feared she had contracted HIV. She claims Russell Brand, 51, told her: 'You need to clear up the mess that you've made.' He denies all seven charges involving six women.

She replied to his text: 'I think you pushed me far enough – you treated me like an animal.'

Barrister Ian Winter KC suggested she consented, then regretted it; she denied this.

She is the fifth complainant to give evidence, speaking from behind a screen.
