Russia's embassy in London has threatened nuclear retaliation after Sky aired 'The Wargame', a drama in which former British politicians including Michael Gove and Nicola Sturgeon simulate a military strike on Kaliningrad. The embassy published statements on Telegram and X warning any real attack on Russian territory would be met with Moscow's full arsenal. Sky defence editor Deborah Haynes, who helped create the show, warns Britain has forgotten how unprepared it is if deterrence fails.
'The Wargame' depicts escalating Russian aggression including targeted killings of RAF pilots, an NHS cyber attack, and missile strikes on Britain.
Haynes reported from Kyiv the day before Russia's full-scale Ukraine invasion and says the show was built to make the Russian threat viscerally real for British viewers.
