Russian drone strike kills Ukrainian mother and baby daughter in a park as blitz leaves at least nine dead

Primary school teacher Inna Mariukhna, 28, had been pushing 14-month-old Angelina in her stroller through a park in Nova Vodolaha, in the Kharkiv region, when a Shahed drone hit. The baby was killed at the scene; her mother died later in hospital. Eight-year-old Arina Koval was among six people killed there, with 15 others wounded, seven of them children. Volodymyr Zelensky described it as a 'pure atrocity'.

Zelensky warned that Ukraine's stock of American-made Patriot interceptors is nearly exhausted.

He called on Washington to maintain sanctions against Russia: 'We ask America to be strong.'
