Russian energy giant Novatek secretly funded an Alaska gas project raised in Trump's peace talks, whistleblower boss claims

Joel Riddle, who ran Polar LNG until he resigned in September, says he was led to believe the cash came from a United Arab Emirates firm. Text messages show Novatek bosses Denis Solovyov and Leonid Mikhelson discussing up to $15 million for the venture's Abu Dhabi parent, Tech Wave. Vladimir Putin reportedly discussed the scheme last month with Trump envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Riddle on the hidden backing: 'It's not only unlawful, but it's not in the U.S. interest.'

Trump temporarily waived sanctions targeting Novatek last week, saying peace talks depended on it.
