Russia struck Ukraine's energy grid on Tuesday in an assault that hit more than 20 targets within a single day, cutting power and water to Kyiv and nine other regions. Officials confirm 37 people were killed in Monday's guided-bomb strike on a school and shelter in the front-line village of Komyshuvakha, Zaporizhzhia, with as many as 38 more feared buried under rubble three days on. Western and NATO officials are gathering in Brussels on Wednesday to discuss post-war security arrangements, ahead of US-brokered peace talks expected to resume next week.

Zelenskyy said Russia launched 289 drones, 17 ballistic missiles and 59 cruise missiles overnight, disabling three of Ukraine's five main thermal power plants.

Kyiv residents were directed to collect water from public fountains, while emergency centres across the worst-affected districts offered hot tea and phone-charging facilities.

The school in Komyshuvakha had been operating as an aid distribution hub at the time of the strike, days after a ceasefire in the Kherson region had allowed a rare humanitarian mission nearby.
