Sam Wood allegedly choked wife until she 'thought she would die' as court reveals previous Victoria attack and denies bail

Australian fitness influencer and former Bachelor star Sam Wood has been refused bail and will remain in custody until November 23, after a Queensland court heard his wife Snezana told police she "thought she was going to die" when he allegedly choked her and threw her against a wall in Noosa. The court also heard Wood had allegedly choked Snezana and thrown her against the floor and a wall during an earlier incident at their Victorian home roughly three years ago — an attack she never reported at the time out of "fear of retribution". Police told the court his conduct was "escalating" and argued he represented an unacceptable danger of reoffending or interfering with witnesses.

The alleged attack ended only after a child's cry alerted Wood, the court heard.

His lawyer Mathew Cuskelly raised a self-defence argument and pointed to severe depression, but the magistrate declined to grant bail.

Wood was dropped by his own fitness brand, 28 by Sam Wood, following his arrest — and a post made days before read 'you'll be sick of seeing so much of me.'
