Sam Wood denied bail and axed from his fitness empire days after domestic violence charges

DBG Health, parent company of 28 by Sam Wood, has terminated all commercial arrangements with the 46-year-old, effective immediately, after initially placing him on indefinite leave the day before — while Wood remains behind bars ahead of a bail application on Thursday. Wood was arrested at a $3,000-a-night Noosa villa on Saturday night after Queensland Police received reports of alleged domestic violence. His lawyer Matthew Cuskelly says Wood is 'worried about his family' and will fight the charges of assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting.

DBG Health will rename the business simply '28', stripping Wood's name from the empire he founded and sold in 2022 for $71 million.

Wood's wife Snezana Markoski, who met him on 'The Bachelor' in 2015, posted a joint statement saying the family is 'working through this' and co-operating with authorities.

Nutrition coach Danni Duncan says the 'trust is now gone' and she cannot see a future for Wood in fitness: 'Unless the story comes out that it was self-defence, I can't see him coming back from this.'
