Saudi Arabia pushes its 'Davos in the Desert' summit back to 2027 after deadly Houthi missile attacks rattle the kingdom

Riyadh's landmark Kingdom Centre has instructed all office-based employees to work from home as Houthi missiles and drones — backed by Iran — continue to target Saudi Arabia. Private jet charter prices for departures out of the kingdom have spiked since the attacks began. The Future Investment Initiative Institute has suspended the 10th edition of its flagship conference, which had served as the centrepiece of the Saudi investment calendar.

Earlier this month, Houthi rebels carried out a series of deadly strikes on Saudi Arabia.

The in-person investor summit has been cancelled altogether for this year.

The postponement reflects how the fallout from the Iran war is rippling across the Gulf.
