Saudi Arabia reopens Riyadh airport two weeks after a Houthi missile killed 13, despite a fresh 'military target' threat

Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree vowed King Khalid International Airport would 'never be safe' and told airlines, staff and travellers to stay away. Terminal 1 now handles domestic flights and Terminal 2 international services run by national carriers. Yet flight-tracking data showed barely any planes moving on Sunday. Shrapnel from intercepted Houthi missiles injured two people in Khamis Mushait and Ahad Rafidah.

The coalition counted 20 Houthi attacks on the airport between October 1 and 11.

Another Houthi strike hit a plane on the tarmac, killing three people.

Gulf stock markets slipped as the Houthi-Saudi clashes rattled investors.
