Schools are to treat antisemitism as a safeguarding risk after review finds three in five Jewish pupils have faced it

Teachers face a ban on wearing pro-Palestine badges in class under Sir David Bell's review, which is due before Parliament on Wednesday. The former Ofsted chief makes 27 recommendations, and ministers are expected to accept every one. The review was ordered after Jewish MP Damien Egan's visit to Bristol Brunel Academy was cancelled over planned protests. The local NEU branch claimed victory.
Fewer than half of the pupils surveyed believed reported antisemitism would be dealt with.
Antisemitic incidents in schools jumped 59%, from 112 to 178, in early 2026.
Bell: 'If you don't name it, you don't actually know what you're tackling.'
