Scotland Yard reportedly misplaced its own letter on Thomas Markle abuse claims and had to ask Meghan for her copy
Meghan Markle with her father Thomas Markle Sr. Meghan reportedly arranged for hospital staff in Cebu to hand him the letter just after his leg was amputated, having him sign a form confirming receipt.
The Metropolitan Police never passed the 2019 tip-off to the FBI or any other law enforcement agency, and is now weighing an IOPC referral over its handling. The letter was reportedly written by his late ex-wife Roslyn Loveless, who died in 2024. Jim Gamble, former head of the National Crime Agency's child exploitation command, warned children may have suffered for 'seven years' as a result. Thomas Markle, 82, denies any wrongdoing.
Former royal protection chief Dai Davies called the Met's handling 'bizarre to put it mildly'.
Loveless claimed Markle visited the Philippines and Thailand 'because 12-year-olds are legal there'.
Philippine minister Jonvic Remulla: 'All signs point to a possible sex offender of the grossest kind.'
