Scottish Government says the BBC's plan to move its Scotland channel online is 'wholly unacceptable', with ten jobs to go

Former BBC business and economy editor Douglas Fraser called the closure 'a major blow to Scottish television' and blamed poor marketing for its failure. The channel, launched in 2019, will move solely to iPlayer from next spring. News show The Seven is to shut, with more journalist cuts. BBC Three and Radio 4 Extra are also going online.

Green MSP Q Manivannan said the move 'risks leaving viewers behind', especially older people.

Fraser said The Seven 'always had a death rattle about it'.
