Cath Bowie, from Moray, was introduced to Fortnite by her teenage grandson in 2017 and has since amassed more than 24,000 followers on Twitch. The 78-year-old streams under the username grumpygran1948 — a name her granddaughter picked, even though Bowie insists she 'doesn't grump' — and has now been officially crowned the world's oldest female Fortnite streamer by Guinness World Records. Her story appears in the newly released Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2027.

Her grandson once doubted anyone would watch: '24,000-plus followers later and he doesn't mention it.'

She describes herself as 'a Fortniter more than a gamer', saying no other game has matched its excitement.

Bowie believes nobody is 'ever too old to start gaming' and admits she plays every single day.
