Sea conditions and anchoring problems on Sunday stopped crews deploying a remotely operated vehicle near Port of Ness. Police had flagged an 'area of interest' there on Saturday. Norman Murray, 40, and Murdo Morrison, 23, remain missing, while the body of skipper's crewmate Douglas Craigie, 49, was recovered on Wednesday. Chief Inspector Ross McCartney vowed: 'As soon as it is safe to do so, we will resume our efforts.'

The Kilda sailed from Brevaig at about 7.30am on Tuesday and never returned.

A coastguard plane, two helicopters and two RNLI lifeboats joined the initial search.

Investigators have placed a divers' exclusion zone between the Butt of Lewis and Port of Ness.
