Security guard tells Old Bailey he was sprayed with acid by Palestine Action raiders who cut through factory fence at 3am

Body cam footage played in court shows Palestine Action activists breaking into Instro Precision, a Kent defence factory linked to Israeli arms firm Elbit Systems, during a pre-dawn raid on June 17 2024. Security guard Billy Dennis told the Old Bailey he was confronted by as many as 20 masked intruders armed with hammers, hatchets, fireworks and fire extinguishers, and that a fluid later identified as acid was sprayed at him. Nine defendants face charges of criminal damage, burglary with intent and violent disorder.
Dennis drove a white Land Rover towards the gap the raiders had cut in the fence, hoping to block it and stop them reaching the site.
Palestine Action targeted Instro Precision because of its links to Elbit Systems, an Israeli defence company, the court heard.
