'See you in Israel': Hungary's new PM Peter Magyar accepts Herzog's invitation in first talks since Orban's ouster

Israeli President Isaac Herzog met Peter Magyar in Budapest on Tuesday, six months after Magyar unseated Viktor Orban. Magyar has pledged strong ties with Israel, yet his government reversed Orban's withdrawal from the International Criminal Court. Herzog thanked the new government for its 'clear and unequivocal' stand against antisemitism. President Andras Baka insisted relations remain 'cordial and stable'.

Orban, a close Netanyahu ally, was among Israel's staunchest EU defenders for 16 years.

Herzog used the Budapest trip to warn Hungary's new leaders about the Iran threat.

He hailed Hungary as 'a friend and an ally' in Israel's long fight against terror.
