Sentebale, the charity Prince Harry founded in Diana's memory, pauses defamation claim against him amid fears costs could close it

Harry is reportedly ready to fight the case at trial to clear his name. If he wins, Sentebale could be left paying his legal bills as well as its own. The charity's event income has collapsed from £715,000 to just £70,000, and its reserves have swung from a £232,000 surplus to a £10,000 deficit. Both sides have agreed more time for Harry to file his defence.
Sentebale accused Harry and trustee Mark Dyer of being 'architects of an adverse media campaign'.
Harry quit in March 2025 after a bitter row with chairman Sophie Chandauka.
The Charity Commission found no evidence of bullying claims but criticised weak governance.
