Serial bike thief who stole MP Layla Moran's £2,200 e-bike is jailed for 34 months in Oxford

Andrew Hurtault, a 45-year-old serial bike thief, has been jailed for 34 months at Oxford Crown Court after admitting seven thefts of high-value e-bikes across Oxford in June and July. Among them was a securely locked £2,200 machine belonging to Layla Moran, the Oxford West and Abingdon MP, taken from The Plain on 3 July.
Banned also from carrying lock-breaking tools in public, or bike parts without proof of ownership.
PC William Matthews called Hurtault 'a prolific offender who targeted bicycles across the city'.
Silver lining: Moran says the case has got the CCTV on The Plain working again.
