Seven in ten Americans doubt President Trump would accept midterm defeat, including more than a third of Republicans

Most voters continue to have faith in the midterm process. Sixty percent of respondents to an Ipsos survey said the election will be conducted fairly, a view held by 70 percent of Democrats and 67 percent of Republicans. Around 65 percent believe ballots will be accurately tallied. When asked in February whether he would accept the outcome if Republicans lost Congress, President Donald Trump said: 'I will if the elections are honest.'

Trump has expressed a wish to 'nationalize the voting' and 'take over' elections.
