Seven in ten Americans doubt Trump will accept the midterm results if Republicans suffer losses, a new poll finds

More than a third of Republicans share the doubt, alongside vast majorities of Democrats and independents. Yet six in ten Americans still expect the midterms, now two weeks away, to be run fairly. Asked in February whether he would trust a defeat, President Donald Trump said: "I will if the elections are honest." He has also said he wants to "nationalize the voting".

Trump told Dan Bongino Republicans should "take over the voting in at least 15 places".

Ex-Homeland Security aide Miles Taylor warns: "I know he's not joking."

Some 65 per cent remain confident ballots will be counted accurately.
