'She will regret what she has done': Indian student Deepak Sandhu convicted of STABBING woman to death at Earl's Court Airbnb after she rejected him

Deepak Sandhu, 24, whose student visa had been revoked after he dropped out of Southampton Solent University, was convicted of murder at the Old Bailey on Thursday after a jury deliberated for just two hours. He bought knives from an Asda, disguised his appearance with a scarf and baseball cap, and stabbed Xiaoqing Ke, 39, in the neck at her Old Brompton Road bedsit on 10 December 2025. Sandhu was arrested two days later on a National Express coach heading to Birmingham Airport, where he had booked a flight to Mumbai.
Sandhu had told Ke's former brothel boss 'she will regret what she has done' and texted a friend that he would 'become evil' in the days before the killing.
Prosecutor Caroline Carberry KC described him as 'an obsessed, manipulative young man who could not accept her rejection' — the attack had 'all the hallmarks of a planned attack'.
Sandhu, who lied to Ke about being a model and actor, communicated with her only through Google Translate; the pair shared no common language.
