Sheriff's office investigates assault at Trump's South Carolina rally after the president praised the supporter who punched a protester

Protester Timothy McDaniel told police he was placed in a headlock and struck repeatedly about the head, neck and chest. An Anderson County officer noted minor bruising, and the incident has been recorded as simple assault. Speaking from the stage in Pendleton, President Donald Trump described McDaniel as 'a lunatic' and 'a very unattractive guy'. This marks at least the second time a protester has been assaulted at one of Trump's rallies this month.

Trump told the man who threw the punch he reminded him of Evander Holyfield.

At an October 12 rally in Youngstown, Ohio, supporters attacked a protester in an Epstein T-shirt.

Trump claimed the hecklers were outsiders paid $250 each to disrupt his speech.
