John Boyega, 34, announced his newborn son's arrival in an Instagram post on Wednesday, cradling the baby after quietly confirming his secret marriage in a Guardian interview. The actor, best known as Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, revealed he wed Tae Heckard — now styling herself Tae Boyega on Instagram — in a small ceremony nearly two years ago. Boyega said his life feels 'completely, completely fulfilled in terms of family' and promised a future traditional Nigerian celebration big enough to 'shut Nigeria down'.
Boyega, who also has a young stepson, bought one of his two wedding rings spontaneously at Walmart, calling it 'sentimental' and shouting out 'Walmart Canoga Park'.
The baby news emerged during an interview ahead of BBC documentary 'Damilola: The Untold Story', in which Boyega revisits the 2000 murder of his childhood friend Damilola Taylor.
Heckard, 48, confirmed the union by changing her Instagram bio to 'Tae Boyega'; the pair now follow only each other on the platform.
