Six Flags will add seatbelts to Goliath and similar US coasters after an Atlanta teacher was thrown to his death

Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, an Atlanta Public Schools teacher, was thrown from the 200ft ride on October 12 while his niece Navi celebrated her 13th birthday. Four children were also injured. Goliath had passed its last state inspection on March 16.

Summer Bates, who rode earlier that day, said she noticed loose restraints.

Reilly said: 'I know trust is earned through actions and not words.'

In the US, no single federal agency oversees safety standards on rides such as Goliath.
