Six million households are urged to check their post for £150 energy discount letters as some face a February deadline

Warm Home Discount letters began landing on Thursday 22 October and will keep arriving until January 2027. Anyone on Universal Credit, Housing Benefit, income-related ESA or Pension Credit qualifies, provided they are named on the electricity bill. Those asked to verify details must ring the helpline by 26 February 2027. Energy minister Polly Billington said: 'I know that many families will be struggling with their energy bills this winter.'

Eligibility is judged on circumstances on 23 August 2026, not today.

Last year's expansion added nearly 2.3 million families, around one million with children.
