SNP's Flynn tells Burnham to 'bring it on' and let Scotland vote on independence as conference opens in Aberdeen

SNP Economy Secretary Stephen Flynn issued a direct challenge to Prime Minister Andy Burnham on the opening day of the party's Aberdeen conference, demanding he allow a second Scottish independence referendum. Flynn declared the SNP is "winning the argument" and insisted Burnham should "let the people of Scotland decide." The challenge came hours after Burnham clarified to First Minister John Swinney that IndyRef2 remains "off limits", and ahead of the PM's own visit to Scotland on Friday in what analysts see as a deliberate attempt to overshadow the gathering.
The SNP is simultaneously launching 'Choose Scotland', its biggest pro-independence campaign since 2014, running until Christmas with a national day of action on St Andrews Day.
SNP Westminster leader Dave Doogan piled on, branding Burnham the 'Labour Party's latest messiah' and insisting Scotland would not wait 'another decade' for Westminster to fix 'Brexit Britain'.
Veteran nationalist Alex Neil warned SNP members are gripped by 'utter depression' over Swinney's lack of a credible strategy to actually deliver independence.
