Solihull residents call Reform councillors' remarks 'disgusting' after one said his ward was 'infested' with Asian families

Councillor Alan Feeney has resigned after an ITV undercover investigation filmed him calling Asian families 'absolute parasites'. Residents of Castle Bromwich, Shard End and Shirley also branded the remarks 'embarrassing' and 'scary'. Others raised concerns about how their communities are changing and about the damage to Solihull's reputation. On the covert tapes, Feeney told colleagues: 'We'll all be in the papers.'

Shard End's Tracey Branscomb said: 'It shouldn't be a them and us thing.'

Feeney once hosted multi-faith events in Worcester and was MC for a visit by the late Queen.

Reform has accused the undercover reporters of interfering in the election.
