'Something was off': Meghan's niece says she is 'not surprised' by child sex image allegations against Thomas Markle
Meghan Markle with her father Thomas Markle Sr. The Metropolitan Police lost its own copy of a letter alleging Thomas Markle, 82, visited Southeast Asia to abuse children, and had to request Meghan's copy.
Noelle Rasmussen, the daughter of Meghan's half-sister Samantha Markle and granddaughter of Thomas Markle Sr., said she had long sensed "something off" about the 82-year-old, who is now under investigation in the Philippines on suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material. Speaking from her home in New Mexico, Rasmussen said she backs Meghan's decision to keep Archie and Lilibet away from Thomas Sr., and credited her uncle Thomas Markle Jr. with tipping off authorities about the alleged material.
Rasmussen said she is 'glad' she was 'never victimised or had the chance to be victimised' by her grandfather.
Thomas Sr.'s ex-wife Roslyn Loveless wrote to the Metropolitan Police in 2019 alleging he was a paedophile — but the Met reportedly lost the letter and never forwarded it to the FBI.
Rasmussen called the police failure 'embarrassing', saying it 'blows my mind'; Thomas Sr. denies all wrongdoing, insisting any paid sex in the Philippines involved adults.
