Bill Belichick's son Steve has stepped down as UNC's defensive coordinator as the university announced the conclusion of its internal probe into the football programme. The investigation was triggered by a human resources complaint against general manager Michael Lombardi, who resigned on 3 September. North Carolina said the probe found certain actions showed "disregard for Carolina's values" but were "isolated in scope and not a systemic failure."
