Stockport husband who drugged and raped his wife asked a co-accused to post sedatives to his dead mother-in-law's home

Nine men are on trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court accused of sexually abusing a Stockport woman whose husband drugged and raped her for more than two decades. Prosecutors say the husband found "many, many men whose fantasy is an unconscious and unresponsive woman" through websites including fabswingers.com and Craigslist, recruiting at least 13 abusers. The woman's ordeal ended only after undercover journalists infiltrated a Telegram chat group and police were called.
The husband's Samsung S25 phone, seized on arrest, contained over a million photographs and videos cataloguing the abuse — described by prosecutors as acting "like a confessional".
Defendant Richard Wilkins, 62, told Winchester Crown Court he was told the wife would "pretend to sleep" and that "if you get her going she might respond".
Defendant Connor Sanderson-Doyle, 32, told the court Young was "using pawns in his sick little game" and insisted he had stopped when he felt she was unhappy.
