Storm Boelo shuts the Dornoch Bridge and Scottish A roads while Largs town centre is left under floodwater
Main Street in Largs, North Ayrshire, was turned into a river, and staff at the Tha-Tien-Thai restaurant shared a video of their flooded kitchen with the words: 'There is nothing left.' The Met Office has warned of danger to life from flying debris and crashing waves. Its amber wind warning runs until 9pm tonight. Storm Boelo struck hard on the heels of Storm Austen, which hit on Friday.
The Dornoch Bridge on the A9 has been closed to all vehicles in the high winds.
Engineers have reconnected 344,900 customers, but 82,600 are still cut off.
'God knows how much stock we have lost,' said Largs ice-cream shop owner Toni Dawson.
