Hardeep Bhachu lost control of his Audi TT on Scott Hall Road and ploughed into Justyna Hulboj, 27, and Lena Czepczor as they walked to nursery in January 2023. He got 12 years at Leeds Crown Court. Jasskamal Riyat, who denied racing him in his BMW, got 16. Judge Ray Singh said Riyat's car hit up to 89mph in a 40mph zone, adding: 'A road is not a racetrack.'
Bhachu's dashcam caught the pair laughing, with Riyat saying 'Enjoy that, enjoy that'.
Riyat fled the scene and was taken into custody later that afternoon.
Both men are banned from driving for six years and must take an extended test.
