Justyna Hulboj, 27, had paused to fasten daughter Lena Czepczor's coat seconds before Hardeep Bhachu's Audi TT RS mounted the pavement on Scott Hall Road in Leeds. Jasskamal Riyat's BMW hit speeds of up to 89mph in a 40mph zone as the two strangers raced. Bhachu, 29, admitted the deaths and received 12 years; Riyat, 37, denied racing and was sentenced to 16. Judge Ray Singh told them: 'A road is not a racetrack.'
Bhachu's dashcam caught him boasting: 'I was at a quarter throttle. 560 horsepower.'
Lena's father, Dominik Czepczor, said: 'My whole world collapsed in one second.'
Riyat fled the scene and was taken into custody later that afternoon.
