Strictly insiders fear 'beginning of the end' as Shirley Ballas judges Dancing With The Stars despite vowing she is not leaving
Shirley Ballas, head judge on Strictly Come Dancing, who says she is "100 per cent" not leaving the BBC series despite taking on a guest judging role on American show Dancing with the Stars.
Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas, 66, has insisted she is "100 per cent not leaving Strictly" after flying to the US to guest judge on Dancing With The Stars' Halloween special on Tuesday night. She shocked the American ballroom by giving frontrunner Julia Stiles just four points while fellow judges awarded sevens and eights. Backstage tension has surfaced, with the show reportedly no longer feeling "like the happy family it once was."
Ballas also gave actress Tatyana Ali four points, but awarded the first perfect 10 of the DWTS series to 'Glee' star Harry Shum Jr.
She will return to the UK in time for Strictly's own Halloween special this Saturday, calling the US stint "double duty."
Opinion backstage is split into two camps — those who believe her loyalty pledge and those who think she is "paving the way for bigger and better things in the States."
