Giovanni Pernice's autobiography has left Strictly Come Dancing's professional dancers furious, with the book reportedly tarnishing them all by claiming some drink before live shows and engage in horrific rows. Abbington has flatly rejected his 'banter' framing, saying he is 'grossly mischaracterising what happened to suit his own narrative.' The BBC paid Abbington compensation after its investigation made findings against Pernice. The fallout lands just three weeks before Strictly's high-stakes relaunch without hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.

Many pros reportedly feel Pernice 'is trying to bring them down with him' and the book has made 'a difficult situation ten times worse.'

Pernice's book also revealed Abbington made a Nazi salute during rehearsal — a claim he says he chose not to escalate to Strictly bosses at the time.

Despite the bad blood, many pros still follow Pernice on Instagram, with no one reportedly wanting 'to be accused of snubbing him further.'
