Jaime Winstone, 41, has torn an abdominal muscle and doctors have ordered complete rest, forcing the actress to skip Saturday's Strictly Come Dancing episode with partner Carlos Gu. The BBC confirmed the injury on Wednesday, granting the pair a bye through to the following week.

Winstone and Carlos Gu had already been in the dance-off bottom two for the previous two consecutive weeks.

The BBC says the pair will return next week 'when it is hoped they will be able to dance again.'

'I am praying for a speedy recovery so that I can continue this magical journey,' Winstone added.
