Nadiya Bychkova wrote to three senior BBC executives in 2024, pleading for an unnamed colleague she described as 'abusive' to be kept away from her — yet she still had to work alongside that person on Strictly recordings. The 37-year-old Ukrainian dancer was dropped from the show earlier this year along with three other female professionals, and those close to her now openly question whether her complaint contributed to her dismissal.

Bychkova reportedly believes the BBC 'turned a blind eye', with her feelings 'downplayed' and the colleague's conduct 'normalised'.

The BBC proposed a formal investigation, which she turned down, and instructed producers to minimise contact between them — yet she reportedly continued to find herself in the colleague's orbit.

'It was heartbreaking for her — of course that is going to lead to questions of whether the two were linked,' a source said.
