Strictly's Shaun Wright-Phillips hits back at Brendan Cole's 'PR stunt' claim as Amy Dowden also brands his comments 'upsetting'

Brendan Cole claimed the show had "used" Arsenal legend Ian Wright in a rehearsal VT and declared his son's "days are numbered". Shaun Wright-Phillips, 44, insisted: "I've never used dad for any public vote." He said his father simply wanted to see him at work and has not yet made a live show. Amy Dowden said Cole claimed she had "not done a good job since my cancer".

Cole said Dowden "has not been up to the challenge" after her first-week exit with Chris Appleton.

Dowden on Cole: "Rather than him worry about headlines... He's got my number."

She mimed to Mariah Carey's 'Obsessed' on Instagram, captioned "If you know, you know #bekind".
