Strictly viewers brand Anton Du Beke's comment 'unnecessary and unkind' after his casting vote sent Shaun Wright-Phillips home
Emma Willis with Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe, the Strictly Come Dancing hosts, with Widdicombe reportedly considered the weakest link as more than a million viewers have switched off since the three-host format…Shaun Wright-Phillips and partner Alexis Warr, whose jive scored just 17 points against Jaime Winstone's winning foxtrot of 25 in the dance-off.
"Shaun, your quest for professional dancing will have to wait a bit longer," Anton Du Beke told the former England footballer before saving Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu. One viewer said Du Beke "could've phrased that better, he was mean". Another branded his words "just rude". Shirley Ballas had backed Wright-Phillips and Alexis Warr, leaving Du Beke with the deciding vote.
Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse both voted to save Winstone, 41, and Gu.
Wright-Phillips' jive scored just 17, against 25 for Winstone's foxtrot.
A tearful Wright-Phillips, 45, called the show "the most amazing journey I've had".
