Student admits murdering housemate he stabbed 30 times before eating pizza and gaming with friends for hours
Zack Coughlan, 23, put on a mask and gloves before lying in wait for Jamie Collins, 21, outside their Filton home following a dispute over rent. Prosecutors called it a 'carefully planned and cold-blooded execution'. Coughlan waited about eight hours before calling 999 and even showed police the CCTV. He changed his plea mid-trial and is to be sentenced on Wednesday.
Mr Justice Linden barred Coughlan's loss-of-control defence from going before the jury.
Coughlan dumped his bloodied clothes in a pond, in bags weighed down with bricks.
Days earlier he had called police to report masked 'roadmen' with knives in the alleyway.
