Student who stabbed his housemate 30 times then ate pizza and played video games admits murder
Zack Coughlan, 23, changed his plea seven days into his trial at Bristol Crown Court after Mr Justice Linden ruled that his loss-of-control defence could not go to the jury. Wearing black and a mask, he ambushed Jamie Collins, 21, in Filton on April 8, leaving the body outside for eight hours before calling 999. Coughlan is to be sentenced on Wednesday.
Coughlan owned the Cleve Road house, and the pair had rowed over the rent.
Four days earlier, Coughlan called 999 about knife-wielding 'roadmen' stealing copper.
CCTV cameras that Coughlan had fitted himself recorded the entire attack.
