Up-skirting supply teacher jailed for six years after using AI to create deepfake sex images of his own pupils
Abusali Rahman, who secretly photographed pupils' underwear and used AI to create deepfake sexual images of 13 girls at schools across Greater Manchester, was jailed for six years today.Rahman also drafted a document in May 2025 intending to sell explicit AI-generated images of women to other offenders for £20 each.
Abusali Rahman, 37, of Salford, was sentenced to six years at Bolton Crown Court on Thursday having pleaded guilty to 21 child sex offences involving girls aged 13 to 16 at seven Greater Manchester schools. He hid an iPhone in his breast pocket to take upskirt photographs during lessons, followed girls up staircases to film them, and used their social media pictures to generate AI deepfake images that he then posted online. A mother uncovered his X account — which had amassed 1,000 followers — after spotting her daughter's school uniform photo alongside graphic sexual content while browsing her phone. Rahman had been placed across 25 schools in north-west England and was also found to have kept files recording pupils' names and home addresses.
Judge Kenderik Horne told Rahman: 'You were a trusted supply teacher — you abused that trust.'
Police established that Rahman had used his phone to search for legal defences, spy camera suppliers and methods for photographing people without detection.
In May 2025 he drafted a document offering explicit images of women at £20 each, and had been intending to sell the material to other offenders.
