No arrests made as five victims leave hospital and one fights for life after US shooting near Florida A&M homecoming
A social-media post reporting the shooting near Florida A&M University's homecoming event in Tallahassee, where a fight behind Bragg Memorial Stadium left 12 wounded — the youngest victim just 11 years old.
Six of the 12 people hurt were children, the youngest just 11, after gunfire erupted on Perry Street behind Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallahassee shortly before 8pm on Saturday. Police Chief Lawrence Revell said a fight between 'two or three individuals' preceded the shooting. About two dozen officers were in the immediate area when it happened. Six victims remain in hospital.
Revell said he stood before reporters 'devastated' and has no person of interest so far.
A grandmother of one victim was hurt while fleeing the scene, police said.
The shots rang out hours after Arkansas–Pine Bluff beat the Florida A&M Rattlers 31-28.
