Taylor Swift released four new songs at midnight Friday as part of 'The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore', with the standout track 'Cleveland!' widely read as a love letter to her NFL star husband Travis Kelce, whom she married at Madison Square Garden on 3 July. The song references Kelce's hometown of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, his 'New Heights' podcast, and closes with the line 'now I'm wearing white' — an apparent nod to their wedding. Swift wrote all four tracks with longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback in Sweden. A full music video for lead single 'Patient Zero', featuring Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson, is set to premiere at the MTV VMAs on Sunday.
'You only need to find one person who doesn't find you completely insufferable — I found mine,' Swift sings in 'Cleveland!'
The new release also includes a scathing track, 'Patient Zero', described as a brutal warning about a toxic ex.
Swift is set to receive the inaugural 'Artist Director Honors' at Sunday's VMAs, an award created specifically for her attendance.
