Teachers face a ban on wearing pro-Palestine badges as a review warns three in five Jewish pupils have suffered antisemitism

Teachers face a ban on wearing pro-Palestine badges as a review warns three in five Jewish pupils have suffered antisemitism

The review was ordered after Jewish MP Damien Egan's visit to Bristol Brunel Academy was cancelled because pro-Palestinian activists planned protests, and the local NEU branch then claimed victory. Sir David Bell's report is due before Parliament on Wednesday with 27 recommendations. Ministers are expected to accept them all. Fewer than half of Jewish pupils believe antisemitism would be dealt with if they reported it.

Sir David Bell says teachers must not be 'imposing their own views on students'.

Antisemitic incidents in schools rose 59% this year, from 112 to 178.

Some Jewish heads spend more time on security than on teaching, the review found.
