Ted Cruz claims Americans could die if Democrat Abdul El-Sayed wins in Michigan and joins the Senate Intelligence Committee

Senator Ted Cruz, campaigning for Republican Mike Rogers in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, warned that El-Sayed could be placed on the Senate Intelligence Committee with no security clearance vetting required for elected officials. Cruz stated he believes El-Sayed is 'a passionate supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood' — a claim El-Sayed has repeatedly and flatly rejected, saying he 'absolutely' disavows the group. A new MISEN poll shows El-Sayed leading Rogers by around six points, with momentum growing among independents and younger voters.
Cruz also predicted an El-Sayed win would boost AOC's 2028 presidential prospects, warning the 'eyes of the country are on Michigan.'
El-Sayed's spokesman Cole Wozniak dismissed Cruz as a 'deeply unpopular politician who has long supported policies that hurt Michigan families.'
Cruz noted US service members are currently fighting Muslim Brotherhood-linked groups overseas, arguing a senator sympathetic to the organisation would pose a direct threat.
