Teen white supremacist's plot to massacre Hindu temple worshippers near Chicago is foiled after his gun jams

Alexandros Paporakis, a 19-year-old Taco Bell cashier from Palatine, Illinois, told co-workers that Sunday would be "a special day" — then called one of them back to say his gun had jammed before fleeing the scene. Officers arrested him as he left his home; he now faces felony charges of making a terrorist threat and unlawfully possessing weapons. Investigators believe he was targeting Aurora, Illinois's largest Hindu temple.
Paporakis made no effort to hide his white supremacist beliefs at work and, prosecutors say, told colleagues he 'couldn't wait to kill Indian people'.
After receiving a document laying out the alleged shooting plan, along with photographs of tactical gear sent by Paporakis, co-workers contacted police.
Palatine police chief William Nord said the seriousness of the alleged threat 'cannot be overstated'.
