Teenage knifeman ALREADY monitored as an IS supporter is shot dead by guard at Israeli embassy in Serbia
Serbia's national security threat level was raised to red after a knifeman attacked a police guard outside the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade before being shot dead.
Serbia's interior minister Ivica Dacic confirmed the attacker was a minor from Šabac, already under surveillance by security services for openly displaying an Islamic State flag on his Instagram account. The teenager dressed in black, entered the guard's booth just after midnight and threw one knife at the officer, striking him in the left cheek, before being shot dead on the spot.
Serbia has raised its national terror threat to red alert, the highest level, with increased police presence across key locations.
This is the second attack on Belgrade's Israeli embassy in under three years — in June 2024, a crossbow-wielding attacker shot and wounded an officer before being shot dead.
The European Jewish Congress warned the 'repeated targeting of Israeli diplomatic missions is deeply alarming.'
