Telford loses its last Post Office as M&S closure and stationery chain collapse pile pressure on town centres

Telford town centre is to lose its final Post Office branch, with the closure set to leave residents without any in-town postal service. The move comes as M&S confirmed it will shut its Telford Centre store after 22 years, describing the decision as "deeply shocking," and a major stationery chain announced it will close all its UK outlets by 2027.

The Post Office closure is part of a wider wave of high-street retreats hammering town centres across Britain.

The stationery chain's shutdown will affect at least two Scottish stores, adding to the mounting toll on local retail.
